A word from the Race Director: There are a lot of marathons out there laying claim to be most scenic, and all of them have legitimate reasons for such a claim. None of them, however, are run through the sacred land of the Lakota Sioux, and finish at a town that is an Historic Landmark... that is right, the entire town of Deadwood, South Dakota is part of our authentic American heritage. Might I also mention the close proximity of Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Devils Tower and numerous other attractions. All race directors think they have something special to offer you, and I am no different.
