Naylors Beach Triathlon

September 28 , 2008

The race is at Naylors Beach in Warsaw, VA which is near Tappahannock on the Rappahannock River about 30 miles North of Mechanicsville and just east of Richmond. The campground is very nice, view is beautiful. Camping is available as well as local hotels and B&Bs. The post race food is way above average: crab cakes, BBQ, tofu burgers are among the usual menu suspects! The swim is a challenging Rappahannock River course, bike has some heavy rollers, and the run is pretty flat yet sunny. You will actually need to train for this triathlon to finish it! Naylors tri offers a plethora of categories: 2 or 3 person relays, aquabike (swim/bike only), aquathlon (swim/run only), Clydesdale (200 lbs) /Athenas (150 lbs), Collegiate, and individuals. There is something for everyone to be able to participate!

USAT MID-ATLANTIC REGIONAL COLLEGIATE CHAMPIONSHIPS Naylors Beach Triathlon has been selected as the 2008 USAT Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Championship. We will post teams as they are confirmed. There is a new homestay program for the student athletes. $5000 cash!

TRIATHLON PINT GLASS SERIES Anyone who races all four RMS Triathlons (Power Sprint, I Love the Tavern, Richmond Sprint, and Naylors Beach) will receive a sweet commemorative pint glass!

AQUABIKE DIVISION Back again in 2008 is the Aquabike Division! Racers will still do the 1.5k swim and the 26mi Bike, but instead of going on to the run, they will finish the race. This division is perfect for those not able to run or for those who are not quite ready for the full Olympic triathlon experience.

AQUATHLON DIVISION The Aqua what? The Aquathlon Divsion will have racers swimming the 1.5k swim, then going immediately to the 10k run! No helmet, spare tubes, CO2 cartridges, or bike needed! Just your swim and running legs!
